• Senior Project: Ignition Community Garage

    The Challenge

To create a solution to an issue that I have experienced or believe could be provided a solution through design. The issue being focused on is the dwindling automotive knowledge in our society.

    The Solution

The issue of the lack of automotive has been addressed by creating a community garage. The Ignition Community Garage is a digital and physical space. Ignition would offer tool kits for purchase with paired instruction manuals to complete different automotive tasks. Ignition would also offer in garage services, garage wear and other merchandise.

In garage services were included to address that not everyone has the space to work on their vehicle or they need more tools or assistance then the kits can provide to the individual.

MISSION STATEMENT: Ignition believes that learning how to do maintenance on your vehicle should be easy, accessible and stress-free.

Also, by educating more individuals about their vehicles this will help create more independence and confidence in car owners as they will have the knowledge to care for their own vehicle. This can also lessen the expense of getting vehicle maintenance down if people are able to order the parts needed it and complete it themselves.

     Design Process

Identified an issue, narrowed down my target audience, developed personas and interviewed peers, addressed the concerns derived from peer conversations, developed a brand, created deliverables that address the needs and requirements
